A Cappella Singers Audition Information

Open Rehearsals:
January 14, 21, & 28, 2008 7:00-9:30pm

If you would like to audition for the A Cappella Singers, please join us for one of the 3 open rehearsals (listed above). Auditions are held following each open rehearsal and include the following: 1. sing a prepared solo of your choosing (accompanist provided), or sing a section of a choral piece rehearsed that evening, 2. vocalize to determine range and to check intervals, 3. sight-read a piece supplied by the director.

A Cappella Singers rehearse on Monday nights from 7:00-9:30pm. Saturday morning rehearsals are added if necessary. View the current Fall Rehearsal and Concert Schedule.

Spring Choral Workshop: Each Spring, A Cappella Singers puts on a one-day choral workshop for the members. The morning consists of a contemporary blues, jazz, swing, warm-up; sight-singing practice; and a bit of music theory discussion. Drinks and sandwiches are provided; each attendee is asked to bring a dish to share. And the afternoon is spent working on the "trouble" spots in the Spring Program music.

It's a fabulous event that not only improves each member's music skills but unifies the group as well.
